The Purpose of Self-Reliance

Self-reliance is the ability, commitment, and effort to provide the spiritual and temporal necessities of life for yourself and your family.

This isn't about doing it alone. It's about partnering with the Lord to build the skills, habits, and faith you need to thrive—both spiritually and temporally.

Why Does It Matter?

Because the Lord has promised: "It is my purpose to provide for my saints" (D&C 104:15).

Self-reliance groups help you:

How It Works

You'll meet with a small group (8-12 people) for 10-12 weeks. Each week follows a simple pattern:

  1. Report — Share progress on last week's commitments
  2. Learn — Gain practical skills
  3. My Foundation — Study spiritual principles
  4. Ponder — Listen to the Spirit
  5. Commit — Set specific weekly goals

You'll also have an action partner who checks in with you during the week to help you stay on track.

The Goal

To be different after 12 weeks. Not perfect, but stronger. More capable. More confident. More reliant on the Lord.
